Carpenters needed, specializing in renovations.

Carpenter needed. Primary tasks are attic and wall insulation, window and door repair or replacement, caulking and weatherstripping. Experience with blowing insulation a plus. All work is on single family homes in low-income neighborhoods of Atlanta.
Hours are 7:00 am - 5:00 PM Monday - Thursday (38 hours per week) These are full time, permanent positions. Must have clean MVR with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years and no criminal record.

Crew Steward

Reports To: Crew Leader
Summary: To perform weatherization activities. Typically functions as part of one work unit involved in weatherization of single family homes. Work performed is of moderate difficulty.

The examples of work given are illustrative of the duties assigned to this position. No attempt is made to be exhaustive. The intent of the listed examples is to give a general indication of the levels of difficulty and responsibility common to the position.

Examples of Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Assists Crew Leader in the weatherization of private, single family homes. Loads truck each morning with tools, equipment and materials needed for each job site. Maintains good customer relations with weatherization recipients and assists with proper completion of necessary paperwork including authorization forms and material records. Tasks will include attic, floor and wall insulation, weatherstripping, caulking and window and exterior door repair.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Good knowledge of hand / power tools and ability to read a tape measure.
  • A valid Georgia Driver’s License with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years is required.
Training and Experience:
  • Training or experience in a construction industry or experience as a carpenter or carpenter’s helper.
  • Experience with blowing insulation a plus.
Hourse of Operation:
  • This is a 38 hour per week position, working M – Thursday 7:00 am – 5: PM
